By creating an account or using Postcard Writer ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Postcard Writer lets you turn photos into a stylized digital postcard — with handwriting-style text, a generated stamp/postmark, and optional AI-generated art filters — and send it by email. It's currently invite-only and offered on a free plan with a monthly limit on AI-filter generations.
You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload. By uploading content, you grant Postcard Writer a limited license to store, process, and transmit it solely to provide the Service — generating your postcard, applying an AI filter you request, and emailing it to the recipients you choose.
By uploading any photo or content, you confirm that:
You're solely responsible for the content you upload and send. Postcard Writer may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section.
Automated and manual review: every uploaded photo is automatically screened by a content-moderation classifier before it can be used to generate a postcard style or be sent. Photos the classifier flags (or can't check) are held for manual review and are not usable until cleared. We reserve the right to reject content, refuse to process or deliver a postcard, suspend an account, and — where we're legally required to, such as content depicting child sexual abuse — report it to the relevant authorities (e.g. the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) and retain related records as required by law.
Some filters use a third-party AI image model to repaint or restyle your photo. AI output can be imperfect — it may render text oddly, alter details, or not match what you expected. Review the result before sending. AI-generated images aren't guaranteed to be free of any resemblance to existing copyrighted works, though the Service's prompts are designed to work only from your own uploaded photo.
Don't use the Service to upload, generate, or send content that:
Also don't attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or the invite-only gate, or interfere with or abuse the Service's infrastructure (including automated/scripted use outside normal usage).
Content in any of the categories above may be rejected through our review process (Section 4) even if it would otherwise be legal to possess — this section is the standard our review applies when deciding whether uploaded content can be used on the Service.
The current plan is free with a monthly limit on AI-filter generations, shown in your account menu. Paid plans (e.g. to remove limits or ads) may be introduced in the future — you'll be told before any charge applies to your account.
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, including the content restrictions in Section 4. You can stop using the Service at any time; contact us to request account deletion (see Section 11).
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including availability, accuracy of AI-generated output, or fitness for a particular purpose. Postcard Writer is a small, independently run project without an uptime guarantee.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Postcard Writer and its operator aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including content you upload or send. You agree to indemnify and hold Postcard Writer harmless from claims arising from content you uploaded in violation of Section 4.
We may update these Terms from time to time; the version/date at the top of this page reflects the version currently in effect, and your account records which version you most recently agreed to. Questions, or to request account/data deletion: info@postcardwriter.com.
